New Years Eve @ Matthew Flinders
Whoooaaa, Melbourne,…it’s been a tough year all round and nowhere more so than in our beloved Victoria. If you’d ever told us pubs would all be shut down, we never would have believed you. Didn’t happen in either war, didn’t happen during the Spanish Flu outbreak, but if you told us we’d be shut for more than 6 months, we would have thought you were crackers. With it, live music has also ground to a halt, so this NYE, after a long absence and with no fireworks, festivals and the like, we thought we’d bring in GOLD CHISEL for a mega 3 set workout after a 3 course meal curated by our lovely Italian Head Chef.
We do have some Show Only tickets available for entry from 8:30pm, but in any case, we invite you to gather your mates, book some tickets and lets send off 2020 as we look to a brighter 2021.

Cold Chisel are unquestionably one of the most loved and respected bands in Australian History. They produced not only some of the greatest and most well-known Australian anthems, but they performed with a truly unique sound and an unparalleled energy. To play a tribute show to this legendary band would require far more than just a bunch of guys playing these well loved songs. It would require a group of fine musicians that could recapture the sound, the energy and the anthems with great authenticity, which is precisely what GOLD CHISEL has done for well over a decade now.
Gold Chisel (est. 2000) has toured to almost every part of this great country and still continues to do so. They have played to many capacity crowds and have pleased even the most critical of Cold Chisel fans, including friends and family members of Cold Chisel themselves. Critics have praised Gold Chisel for being able to replicate the sound to the point where if you had your eyes closed you would think you were actually listening to Cold Chisel.
Jimmy Barnes’ younger brother Alan recently sang together on stage with Gold Chisel’s front man Andy Lutze. This is what he had to say the following day on Facebook: “I like it singing with u, was like singing with John and Jim (referring to his brothers Jimmy Barnes and John Swan). Someone else with a huge voice who knows how to use it well. Cheers.
Gold Chisel has earned its reputation as Australia’s No. 1 Cold Chisel tribute show and needs to be experienced to be believed.
