Land Down Under In Concert – When Australian Music Took the 80’s by STORM!
Get ready to relive the excitement of the iconic ‘Aussie Music Explosion’ of the ’80s! This unforgettable celebration is coming to The Heights on Nerw Years Eve, honouring the era that defined a generation, shaped Australia’s identity, and captured hearts worldwide.
‘LandDownUnder’ will take you back to that incredibly ‘proud’ time in the 80’s when Men At Work, Olivia NJ, Split Enz, AC/DC, INXS, John Farnham, Kylie, Midnight Oil and more were dominating across the globe with hit after hit – it had never been seen before and it hasn’t been seen since.
What an era, when we also won the America’s Cup for the first time ever, Evonne Goolagong Cawley & Pat Cash both won Wimbledon, Greg Norman was the Number 1 golfer in the world, our movies like Mad Max, Gallipoli, The Man from Snowy River and the biggest of them all Crocodile Dundee were all huge successes internationally.
That 8-year period in the 80’s coined the the phrase the ‘Australian Explosion Phenomenon’ was a moment in time when everything Australian just seemed to captivate the globe and ‘boy oh boy’ what a proud nation we were back then!!
The All-Star LDU band re-captures the unmatched pride and spirit of the era and celebrate it to the hilt.
