Tropic Fiesta – Suburban Sounds

Townsville transforms into the epicentre of Australian live music for three massive weekends when Tropic Fiesta storms into town.

The party starts on Friday 12th May with Suburban Sounds bringing Australia’s most loved country music identity and an outback icon, Lee Kernaghan to the Kirwan Taverns outdoor stage.

Credited with reinvigorating Australian Country Music by synthesising traditional country themes with his own brand of rural rock and images of an evolving regional culture, Lee has become ingrained in our outback culture..

Songs like The Outback Club, Boys From The Bush, Hat Town, She’s My Ute, Outback Club, Backroad Nation and Australian Boy are now modern day anthems for a generation of Australians living and working on the land.

Lee has achieved a staggering 40 #1 chart hit songs over his career and has been awarded 38 Golden Guitars. His live concerts are a high powered, electric celebration of all things Australian delivered through Lee’s songs.

Joining the party, and having recently signed on as LK’s touring band, will be Newcastle’s own Hurricane Fall. Hurricane Fall’s high energy performance is like a throwback to the glory days of live music. It hits you like a freight train; unveiling the uncompromising attitude, passion, and dedication to succeed. The boys bring together an eclectic mix of writing styles and a captivating high energy live performance to create an unmistakable package that is most definitely Hurricane Fall.

Opening up proceedings is Townsville local Tammy Moxon. Tammy knew what she wanted to do from a young age – sing on stage, like her Dad! Fast forward a few years, and Tammy has performed at The Gympie Festival; opened for such acts as, Felicity Urquhart and Drew McAlister; appeared as guest artist with the legendary Bushwackers in Tamworth and is due to release her 3rd album in late April this year..
